Reading Recreation & InclYOUsion Sports - Reading Recreation now offers adaptive sports such as soccer and baseball through InclYOUsion sports for a range of ages, with the specific programs changing over time between seasons

Unified Basketball - The RMHS Unified Basketball team is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding

Burbank YMCA -The Burbank YMCA has a Zero Entry Therapy Pool and periodically offers special needs programming such as the recent SPASH adaptive water exercises along with offering private and semi-private swimming lessons. They also offer camps in the summer

The Reading Public Library  - The Reading Public Library offers a range of programming aimed at different age levels such as storytelling sessions,  writing workshops and more.  Some is aimed specifically at special needs children such as the Adaptive Stories & Songs


Triumph Center - The Triumph Center offers counseling and other services but also provide social skills groups within the Reading location, one of only two locations on the North Shore (the other being Lexington)

North Shore Skating Club - During the winter months, North Shore Skating Club partners with the Reading Recreation Department to offer “Special Skates”. The program offers an opportunity for children with special needs to enjoy the fun of ice skating while working with volunteers from the skating community

Communitas - Communitas is located in Wakefield, but they do service Reading and we know of many Reading families who use their services . They focus exclusively on special needs and offer a variety of Residential Services, Day Services, and Recreational Programs as well as employment and volunteering opportunities


Mathnasium - Provides math tutoring. Mathnasium's approach is to begin with an assessment and then provide a customized learning path for tutoring

Kumon Math and Reading Center of Reading - After-school academic enrichment program focused on math and reading that allows students to advance at their own pace
